artist statement

My studio practice tends to stretch the boundaries of abstraction. As I work, I integrate firsthand observations and responses to the natural environments, cultures, and stories of the locals I connect with when traveling.

My creative process incorporates the mediums of painting, printmaking, photo transfer, sculpture and textiles. There are times when two or three of these mediums overlap to make a new work.

Rich narratives integrated into my work reflect the beauty of nature and humanity.
